The Ronald McDonald House of the Twin Cities

The Ronald McDonald House of the Twin Cities is the cornerstone program of Ronald McDonald House Charities, Upper Midwest.

Since 1979, the Ronald McDonald House of the Twin Cities has been a home-away-from-home for families living farther than sixty miles from the Twin Cities who are being treated at area hospitals. Their purpose is to provide lodging, emotional support and educational resources for on average 48 families each night.

The Ronald McDonald House of the Twin Cities is situated on the East Bank of the University of Minnesota and just two blocks from University of Minnesota Amplatz Children's Hospital.

House Inside the Hospital

RMHC-UM opened a second location called "House inside the Hospital." The House inside the Hospital expansion includes 16 bedrooms and a hospitality center for families with children receiving treatment at Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota.

Family Room

Ronald McDonald House Charities, Upper Midwest's newest program, the Ronald McDonald Family Room, is a result of a wonderful collaboration with Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare, St. Paul. Ronald McDonald Family Rooms offer the feeling of being "home" while caring for a seriously ill child. The Family Room features four emergency sleep rooms, located near the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Inpatient Rehabilitation units.
